The idea to develop Yeung Chau as a wooded nature park with walking trails and boardwalk structure linking the Waterfront Promenade to Yeung Chau were suggested by the Sai Kung Tourism Potential Study. In 2009, Sai Kung District Office collaborated with the Civil Engineering and Development Department to further study feasibility of implementing the development plan of a Nature Park at Yeung Chau. The scale of project and possible environmental implications were to be examined.
